Frequently Asked Questions From Our Clients in Mesa, AZ
WHAT IS REVERSE OSMOSIS?
Reverse Osmosis represents the best in water treatment technology. Reverse Osmosis was developed more than 50 years ago under U.S. Government Funding as a method of Desalinating Sea Water. Today, it is widely considered the most convenient and cost effective way to purify water.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Water molecules are forced through a semi-permeable membrane by water pressure. It is the pressure that harnesses the energy to force the water through the membrane separating it from unwanted substances. Those left behind are automatically diverted to the drain.
EXPLAIN WHY ALL ARIZONA WATER COMPANY USES A 3 STAGE SYSTEM INSTEAD OF OTHERS' 5 STAGE SYSTEM.
First we must understand what is meant by a stage. A stage represents some type of filter. Most people will think that more filters will mean better water! This is simply not so. Many companies will use a post carbon filter telling you it will help remove unwanted tastes coming from a new storage tank or sometimes called after taste.
A carbon filter is very good in the elimination of this taste. AAWC will rinse your new tank for several days before it is installed which will have the same results as an in line carbon filter. Some companies will use Granular Carbon filters before the membrane to protect it from chlorine.
A Granular Carbon Filter is much less effective or as long lasting as a Solid Block Carbon Filter. Granular Carbon Filters will over a few months start to channel the water which will become less effective over time. With a Solid Block Carbon Filter the water is forced through the Carbon Filter which is far and away the best results for removing chlorine and protecting the life of the membrane.
WHAT DOES AAWC CHARGE FOR SERVICE OR TO INSTALL A SYSTEM?
AAWC has never charged for a service call or to install a RO and cooler as a rental. We will also relocate your system within your building or to a new location.
ARE THERE HEALTH BENEFITS FROM DRINKING WATER WITH MOST OF THE MINERALS STILL IN IT?
We get very little mineral value from drinking water; most of the minerals we get and need are from the food that we eat. You will need to drink hundreds of glasses of water
per day to reach the same level as through our diet.
WOULD RUNNING COPPER FROM THE RO TO THE COOLER BE SAFER THAN WITH A PLASTIC OR POLY LINE?
The storage tank, tubing and any dispensing faucet should be made of plastic, stainless steel or other non toxic materials. The low ph and mineral content of RO water may corrode copper tubing and allow lead to leach into the drinking water from brass components.
RO water is commonly called aggressive water and will pick up a copper taste in your drinking water. AAWC will never use copper tubing on your RO or tubing to your cooler.
WHAT METHOD OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?
